Once upon a time, where the water is enough to sustain the whole ecosystem and the water feature as the main point of the garden.. it just a painstakingly hard to maintain garden where the water lettuce keep propagate and dominating the water surface. You can harvest the water lettuce once a week and make it as a compost mix or as a mulch.
