Desa Paku ,A Malay retreat in Malacca

Desa paku is a residential compound that is located in Lendu, Alor Gajah Melaka. Visit by appointment only.  Desa Paku is owned by en Mushlin Musa ,a helicornia enthushiast.The compound is filled with a lush matured trees, orchard, and of course a varieties of helicornia, calatheas, and zingiberaceae family. The main focal point in this garden is the main house, a modern,more larger scale timber Malacca house designed by Malik Lip .

Desa paku House, a traditional house with modern facilities.The house is made from chengal wood, a tropical Malaysian hardwood that is hardly been attack by termites and fireproof because of it's density.

Malacca style Stair, the owner said that the imported porcelain became a rare collection and the price is arising compare to a decade ago .

Main living space.

Contemporary, subtle living space with intimate lighting add a glimpse of elegant and rustic. What i learn from the owner is to use ambient lighting to create an intimate spaces rather than naked florescent lamp. That perhaps the house is full with a lamp shades and fixtures in different types and size.

The Reading room with an intimate lighting ambiance provide another rich palate of interior decoration.
